New Delhi: The Department of IT, Govt. of Bihar participates in MeitYs Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Week. The Department of Information Technology of the Bihar Government participated in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebration organized by MeitY, Government of India. DIT, Government of Bihar will attend the meetings on November 29th & 30th, 2021 at the India Habitat Center, New Delhi.
Day 1 of the MeitYs Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Week received a great response in terms of visitor frequency and the highlight of the day was the HIT COIVD app developed by the Ministry of Information Technology of the Bihar government. “By providing a forum for budding entrepreneurs and investors to strengthen and grow their businesses in Bihar’s IT industry, we hope to make Bihar a major IT hotspot in East India,” said Shri Jibesh Kumar, IT Minister Bihar.
The Secretary of the Department of Information Technology, Govt. from Bihar, Mr. Santosh Kumar Mall (IAS) as keynote speaker at the event presented the HIT COVID app and spoke about the idea, development and implementation of the app. He also mentioned in his presentation how Bihar managed to fight the deadly virus by ensuring regular health follow-up and home surveillance of the isolated COVID-positive patients.
Covid’s Home Isolation Tracking (HIT) app helped Bihar save more than 300 lives and has been instrumental in providing adequate medical services to those in need of immediate medical care. Booth # 18 & 19, dedicated to the Department of Information Technology, Govt. of Bihar received a great response and compliments not only from the visitors but also from the attendees for being one of the best booths and organizing a great show and presenting the IT revolution in Bihar state.
Day 2 of MeitYs Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Week was Start-up & Investment-centric as a large number of entrepreneurs and angel investors could be seen on a platform where the budding entrepreneurs had the opportunity to share their business ideas and innovations in the technology field.
Many start-up ideas were applauded and 4 ideas were also awarded. Many young entrepreneurs had the opportunity to present their projects and impress Angel Investors & VCs.
A panel discussion took place on new paradigms and trends for the financing of tech start-ups by venture capitalists, angels investors, investment platforms for funding tech start-ups.
Bihar’s “Invest IT Bihar” campaign aims to encourage investors and entrepreneurs to invest in Bihar’s IT sector and make this state a preferred investment destination in the eastern region. Bihar is well on the way to becoming the next IT hub in the country, with infrastructure development advancing rapidly and providing a great platform for IT / ITeS and electronics companies.
The government of Bihar is taking progressive steps in the information technology field, using a multi-dimensional approach to encourage investment in the state. The recent invitation from the Bihar Government’s Department of Information Technology to IT / ITeS & ESDM-based startups to apply for rent-free office space in the state’s Start-Up Hub, which is on the 9th and 13th floors of the state Located Biscomaun Tower, Patna-800 001, is one of the steps to ensure the contribution of the entrepreneurial, talented youth of Bihar to the development of the IT sector in the state.
The information technology department received 48 applications from start-ups for rent-free office space in a wide variety of areas, including business process outsourcing, knowledge process outsourcing, data analytics, the Internet of Things and business process management. Out of 48 applications received, 25 startups were shortlisted following an evaluation process as described on the official website of the Ministry of Information Technology of the Bihar Government.
Now that Bihar as a state has adequate infrastructure and technological advances, the Bihar Government’s Ministry of Information Technology is promoting the start-up culture by providing rent-free space to strat-ups working in the IT / ITeS field Provides, Software Technology Park IT, ESDM (Electronic System Development and Maintenance) along with companies engaged in research and development of IT / ITeS products and services to attract investment in the state.
