Shikhar Dhawan-led Delhi has completed 212 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Trophy Elite Group E-Match on Friday against Kerala on Friday, but opening player Robin Uthappa mocked the goal by helping his team win the game by 6 Balls left.
The Rajasthan Royals star crushed 3 fours and 8 sixes, scoring 91 of 54 balls in the match. Working with Vishnu Vinod, who was unbeaten with 71 balls in the match, he scored 132 runs with 65 balls.
Kerala lost Mohammed Azharuddeen, the 37-ball centurion from his previous game and captain Sanju Samson, at the start of their chase, but Uthappa brought all of his experience navigating through experienced attacks in Delhi including Ishant Sharma, Pradeep Sangwan and Pawan Negi.
Previously, Shikhar Dhawan scored 77 balls out of 48 after being asked by Samson to hit first. Himmat Singh scored 26 and Nitish Rana amassed 16 before Lalit Yadav stepped in at 52 to partner with Dhawan for 51 runs for the 4th wicket.
Delhi’s scorecard was 156 for 4 when Dhwan passed the first ball of the 17th. Lalit Yadav (51 * out of 25) and wicketkeeper batsman Anuj Rawat (27 * out of 10) together scored 56 out of 23 points and increased the team’s total from 20 overs to 212.
Kerala Pacer Sreesanth scalped two wickets (Shikhar Dhawan and Nitish Rana) in the match.
