Sanjaya Baru publishes a book entitled “India’s Power Elite: Caste, Class, and Cultural Revolution”.
Sanjaya Baru was a former advisor to Manmohan Singh, was Secretary General of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Director of Geoeconomics and Strategy at the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London and member of the National Security Advisory Board in India 1999-2001. He currently teaches at the Indian School of Public Policy.
He previously wrote a treatise on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. As a result, he publishes “India’s Power Elite: Caste, Class and Cultural Revolution,” which “breaks down the fault lines and power struggles that dominate our political, economic and social institutions. It gives us a glimpse of the changes in the Baru’s Ring in ‘Lutyens.” ‘Delhi’ and in power across India, pulling back the curtains on the nerve centers that shape the fate of the nation. India’s power elite is both entertaining and analytical, “according to the editor.
Commenting on the book, writer Sanjaya Baru, “When the random Prime Minister was published, it was enthusiastically received by readers who felt it offered them a glimpse into the dynamics of power in Lutyens’ Delhi. Most of the Delhi Durbar members, however, criticized me for doing just that – opening a window to the outside after I entered the door. This book reflects the nature of Indian elites and their power and seeks to understand how the political change brought about by the decline of Congress and the rise of the BJP is changing the morphology of the power elite. I study the dynamics of political, economic and cultural power in India today. ”
The book will be published in April 2021.
