New Delhi, March 14th (SocialNews.XYZ) Water supplies in several regions of East Delhi will resume as usual by Sunday evening at the latest, said an official from the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).

Residents who live in the eastern part of the state capital have been confronted with water shortages for 48 hours because the pipelines carried out by the DJB were connected to one another.

A DJB official told IANS that several residents of East Delhi have reported major leaks in the utility line, which caused the water to enter the basement of their home and pose a threat to their building.

The DJB immediately took note of the situation and began repair and connection work.

The DJB admitted that the water supply is having a detrimental effect, particularly in East Delhi.

However, it was claimed that “the repair work is ongoing and will soon be completed”.

In response to people’s concerns, the DJB tweeted, “Generally the connection work takes 12 hours, but digging the road found that many tangled cables have restricted the free flow of water through the pipe.”

Water supplies in more than a dozen areas in east Delhi had continued to be affected since Friday morning.

According to the DJB officials, the resumption of the deadline for the water supply was extended to Sunday evening.

Last week the DJB issued a notice that the water supply would be impaired for a day due to the repair work on the pipeline.
