Janata Dal United (JDU) has announced that it will run in the upcoming Delhi Municipal Corporation elections in areas with sizeable Poorvanchali populations.
This was announced by the party’s national secretary general and minister in the government of Bihar, Sanjay Kumar Jha, on Sunday.
Speaking at a public rally in Badarpur, he said that the party has fought against elections from citizens’ groups in Delhi in the past and that its main focus this year is to oppose Arvind Kejriwal’s alcohol policy.
Poorvanchalis play a major role in Delhi’s politics, but have not yet been able to assert themselves. The citizens’ survey should take place in April next year.
