Delhi: Man held for stabbing wife to death | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death because he had doubts about her character and was fed up with the argument with her over his unemployment, the police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Saturday in the Hari Nagar area of West Delhi after an argument between Harish and his wife over the past five to six years of unemployment.
Police said the murder was so gruesome that the woman’s intestines also flowed from her body. She sustained injuries to her neck and other parts of her body.
After killing his 36-year-old wife, Harish called his brother Vijay Kumar to inform him that he had killed his wife and locked himself in his home, police said.
“The defendant didn’t open the door of his apartment, so the police team broke open the door and found Harish lying on the bed injured while his wife Pinki was lying in a pool of blood on the same bed,” a senior police officer said.
The woman suffered several sharp injuries to the body and was found dead, the officer said.
“Harish was taken to hospital for treatment. It turned out that Harish was an alcoholic and had been unemployed for a number of years. Because of this, his relationship with his wife was strained and he also had doubts about his wife’s character,” the official said.
Deputy Police Commissioner (West) Urvija Goel said a murder case under Section 302 of the Indian Criminal Code had been recorded and the accused husband had been arrested.
Two blood-stained knives and two blades were recovered from the site, she said.
