Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi Okhla appoints Shuvendu Banerjee as new General Manager. With more than two decades of illustrious experience, he has held executive positions and worked with renowned national and international hospitality brands across the country.
In his new role, Banerjee will be responsible for the continued success of the hotel by combining cutting edge hospitality with innovative experiences for guests. He will focus on implementing cleanliness protocols recommended by the IHG Global Ways of Clean program to keep guests and team members safe. His expertise lies in developing sales and marketing strategies for maximum profitability for stakeholders as well as for overall operational efficiency. He is of the opinion that the role of a general manager is extremely varied and varied, which makes every day a new day. He strongly believes in harnessing the strength of the team and believes in working with a strong focus on strategy and quality.
Shuvendu Banerjee is a corporate veteran who spent over 14 years with IHG Group. He moved to this position from Crowne Plaza Cochin, where he led the team as General Manager and worked very closely with industrial partners and tourism associations. Prior to that, he was Head of Sales & Marketing and Operations for Crowne Plaza Gurugram and Crowne Plaza Rohini. Banerjee played a key role in launching the Crowne Plaza brand in India and also worked on the pre-opening team of two of the hotels. He pursues an open and accessible leadership style and works hard to build leaders for tomorrow.

In addition to developing strategies for a strong room and social business, I will also focus on harnessing the food and beverage skills to curate new offerings for our corporate guests and residents of South Delhi. “
Banerjee holds PGDBM in Marketing from the Symbiosis Institute of Distance Learning, a certification from Cornell University and Harvard University management programs, and is an alumnus of the International Institute of Hotel Management. He also studied Strategic Leadership from IIM Ahmedabad. In his free time he loves sports, music and driving.
