Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday congratulated the 2022 Commonwealth Games medalists from the nation’s capital and said it was a day to be proud of our athletes. In his address to the event, he said that the city has improved a lot in terms of sports.
“I am happy that Delhi is upgrading in terms of sport. We’ve got more than 10 medals for the nation,” said Kejriwal. “When we came to power, we learned that there were no facilities for players and there was also a political approach to player selection. That’s why we created the Play and Progress program,” he added.
Deputy Prime Minister Manish Sisodia also spoke about the program that was set up to provide financial support to players.
