AAP names Pathak in-charge for Rajendra Nagar bypoll | Delhi News

New Delhi: With the bypolls in Rajendra Nagar assembly constituency likely to take place in the next few months, the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday appointed Durgesh Pathak as the election in-charge for the same.
The Rajendra Nagar seat fell vacant after MLA Raghav Chadha resigned following his nomination to Rajya Sabha from Punjab. The election on the seat will have to be held by September this year.
Aam Aadmi Party held a workers’ convention on Monday where party’s Delhi convenor and environment minister Gopal Rai announced Pathak’s appointment. He called upon the workers to work hard and win the seat for the party again in the by-election.
Though restricted to just one seat, the bypoll will indicate which political party is still the first choice for the people of Delhi. While AAP will try to uphold its supremacy in the area, the BJP, which has won from here in four of the seven assembly elections, will make an attempt to snatch it back and increase its number in the house. For the Congress, the election will be more of a fight to stay in relevance in Delhi’s politics. TNN
